Before this week I acquired a few technical issues with two of my websites (both WordPress sites) and needed to enroll the assistance of a WordPress expert.
I possess several websites and they are all WordPress websites. The fix is simple, but not necessarily clear. You simply create a second user, who has an Administrator role (you actually can have more than one Administrator for your WordPress website), and erase the “old” Admin customer.
For those of you who need the step-by-step to do this, here goes:
The first step: Log in to your WordPress website using your current login details.
Stage 2: Click on Users > Add Fresh.
3: Create a new user and make the user name a combo of letters and numbers. A note here: you simply cannot produce a new user with the same email address as a present user – so if you offer an alternative email address you are able to use, assign it to this user.
Step 4: Assign the new consumer an Administration role.
Stage 5: Click save, and log out of your website.
Step 6: Sign back to your website using your NEW sign in details (that you just created in Steps 1-4 above).
Step seven: Mouse click on Users to see a group of current users (you actually can also need to use the drop-down filter arrow to select Administrators).
Stage 8: Go to your old Admin user, are positioned over the admin name, and you will probably see two options: Edit | Delete. Press on Delete.
Step dokuz: The system will ask you what you want to do with the posts assigned to the customer. Choose “reassign to a new user” which is your brand-new supervisor user… YOU!
Step 12 (optional): At this point, you really should click on your user profile and modify it so that you have been using your original email address. (Note step 3 above. )
Ta da! You aren’t all done! You’ve just switched your username to the one which is safer.

Some additional security actions that you can also take:
1. Make sure to sign in to your WordPress site regularly and update any jacks and themes that need updating.
2. Also bring up to date the WordPress software too, if this needs it.
3. Deactivate and/or delete any plugins that you are no longer using.
Stick to all of these steps above and you’re well on your way to securing the security of your websites.
